The Succeeding in High School program is designed to give students one-on-one help to develop their academic skills to reach their potential in high school, which includes better grades for better options in post-secondary education.
Reading and Writing
Teachers work closely with students to help them develop reading and writing skills, including knowledge of grammar and building of vocabulary. In addition, students learn writing techniques and strategies that result in enhanced understanding of material covered in school.
Note-taking and test-taking strategies
Students develop note-taking methods and learn valuable test-taking strategies to ensure that their understanding and knowledge of course content is communicated effectively.
Homework Help
Students receive valuable assistance with homework assignments that require reading and writing skills. Emphasis will be on responding to school teachers’ instructions and providing quality work, as well as techniques for staying organized and managing time constraints.
